Perfect for Podcasts: Turning One Video Episode Into a Week of Vertical Clips

A one-hour video podcast holds dozens of clip-worthy moments. A repeatable process for finding them, reframing them and posting them.

Quick answer: to repurpose a video podcast, mark strong moments while recording or reviewing, cut each into a 20 to 60 second clip, reframe to 9:16 so the active speaker fills the frame, add captions and post one or two a day. A single episode can easily supply a week of vertical content.

Podcasts are long. Feeds are short. The bridge is a simple, repeatable clipping process.

Find the moments

During recording: note timestamps when something lands: a strong opinion, a story, a laugh.

From the transcript: scan for quotable lines and surprising facts.

Rule of thumb: a clip should make sense without the rest of the episode.

Cut tight

Start on the most interesting sentence, not the lead-in. End right after the point is made. Most clips land between twenty seconds and a minute.

Reframe for the speaker

Most podcast setups are filmed wide with two or more people. For each clip, frame the person speaking, steady and centered in the safe area. When the conversation switches, move the frame to the other speaker.

Captions and packaging

Burn in captions, add a short hook line at the top and keep the speaker's face clear of text and buttons.

A weekly rhythm

Record on Monday, clip on Tuesday, post daily through the week. Keep a simple sheet of clips, platforms and dates so nothing is posted twice.
